My SO and I have gone back and forth with the idea. Is this something you did? Do you have regrets?

I didn't get eloped...but if it came down to it, I would have and my parents know it 😂

I eloped. The average people in my city spend on weddings is about 70k, which is also close to the average yearly income. I spent about 150 dollars on the marriage license, and I'm happy with that. I never wanted a big wedding or a fancy dress.

I probably would for many reasons haha but I do want a nice big wedding.

But I could always elope now and renew vows when everyone agrees with the wedding (if they didn't) or had enough money ect

Okay I was kind of confused with the poll because you asked if anyone had eloped first, and yes I did. But you also asked if people who did regretted it, and no I don't. I voted yes though since I did elope. I'm not a big people person and standing up in front of tons of people (even though I'd know most of them) and having to say vows just sounded like torture! My husband and I got married at a lake that I've been going to every year my entire life and it was the best day ever. However, my mom and two sisters and one of their families did come because we told them the day before and they insisted on being there. My only regret is that it was on the day of my nephews birthday party (they picked the day long after we had) and so my brother and his wife and son couldn't be there.

We didn't because we had the ability to have a great wedding but if we didn't have the financial means, we totally would have eloped. We spent $10,000 on our wedding total, but family helped out a lot. Our cost was about $6,000. Had we not been able to do that, our plan was to get a nice dress and suit, and get married on the beach.

Me and my hubby did! No regrets! Everyone was pretty upset with us for not having a ceremony or telling them we were gonna do it. But we did it for us! Not them! It would've been nice to have a big wedding and what not but I feel like what we did was more exciting, spontaneous, and just it was so us lol.
