Cosleeping and breastfeeding?

Do you guys bedshare and breastfeed? I swore i would never bedshare but it makes breastfeeding so much easier and the nights way less tiring :( I'm still a high school student so I need all the rest i can get lol what is your experience with bedsharing and breastfeeding? Do they have trouble sleeping in other places now (ex: their crib)?

We bedshared since baby was two weeks old. It's easier to breastfeed and although she used to nap on a bassinet she won't sleep anywhere except in my arms or on our bed now... she won't even nap in the car, carrier or stroller now. Bedsharing really works for me, I love that she doesn't cry all night or in the morning. She stirs, I feed her, she goes back to sleep. She was waking up during the 4 month sleep regression but things are quieting down now. In the morning sometimes she wakes up and just watches me until I wake up. I couldn't imagine being woken up out of a dead sleep to a screaming baby... how traumatic. As for the sleeping somewhere else later on obviously I'm not a good example lol I've tried putting her in her crib for naps but she just won't have it, my goal is to have her napping and going to bed in her crib in our room before a year. Right now for bed I hold her and watch tv with SO then take her bed (we watch with the subtitles on, no sound).

I bedshare and breastfeed our 7 week old. He sleeps from about 10:30 to 5am and then after I feed and change him he sleeps until 8ish. He stills sleeps in the car, in his rock and play, in his bassinet, etc too. If you're worried, get some kind of divider so that you know baby won't roll and you won't roll onto them. I made one with some batting and leftover fabric I had from a blanket I was making but you could just as easily roll a throw blanket up.

I've been doing that since my 22 month old was born. She still wakes up 3 times to nurse but I barely wake up! It sounds like you've found the best solution for a high school schedule. Don't worry about later :)

I bedshare and breastfeed. It makes things so much easier! I love the fact that I don't have to wake up and give a bottle or nurse my LO multiple times during the night. Just pop a tit in his mouth, lol, and go to sleep. I try to always face him so I know that there isn't a chance of rolling over on him so when I flip sides I just slide him over so I'll face him. Do what works best for you girl.

I started when my daughter was a couple of months old. I work long hours so it was the easiest way for me to avoid getting out of bed so often. I am a light sleeper and once I get moving too much sleep is out the window. It was quite a challenge after weaning to get her to sleep on her on. She was 14 months though so that was was all she knew. We were able to side car the crib for a few weeks then put the front on crib. It helped for her to be nearby where she could still see us.

I do bedsharing and breastfeeding for our naps during the day. It works well, but I enjoy the variety of having him sleep in different situations. Hopefully it will make him less picky ;)

Depends of what kind of sleeper you are. I don't move during the night. I have a 14 week old and she slept with me since she was born. I tried putting her to sleep in the crib but I couldn't sleep worrying about her health. Usual she sleeps from 9 PM to 10 AM without wakeing up at all. The good part is that she rest better and I sleep well feeling her beside me, I also breastfeed her in her sleep so it's easier (now I do but I didn't when she was younger and she had no control of her had). The bad part is that I tend to hide it from people because of the judging (calling me crazy for doing it, that I risk my child's life, that I will roll on her...), also she got used to sleeping with me so during the day she is fine to go to sleep by herself in her bassinet but during the night she doesn't sleep without me. That means that every evening at 9 I have to be in bed and stay there until 10 AM. So that is not good for my marriage or older daughter. I know in time thing would change, and to be honest I feel lucky that I get so much rest when I have a baby. Not everybody can say that they sleep 12-13 hours per night when they have a 14 week old. (She started sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old).
  The most important thing is to make sure that is safe for your baby.
