2 doses of fluconazole? Okay or not?

I was prescribed 2 pills of fluconazole for my yeast infection. My Dr told me to take the second pill in 3 days if my symptoms persisted. She said I have a really bad infection. My question is: if I take the second pill even if my symptoms aren't very bad or noticeable, is it safe? Will I be okay? Is it better just to take the second one to be sure the infection is gone? I never had very severe symptoms other then a little bit of clumpy discharge and painful sex...
