Is there a difference between baby aspirating vs. choking on milk?

My baby has been choking and gasping at least once during each feeding. I'm pretty sure I have an overactive letdown. I've read that aspiration is very serious. Is choking the same thing as aspirating?

No they're different. As your baby gets older and therefore bigger they'll be able to handle the flow of milk more efficiently. My son is 8 weeks and chokes less often now. Usually only when my letdown surprises him.

Choking isn't the same as aspirating. Babies can choke a lot if you have a forceful letdown. Aspirating means it's going into the lungs.

My lo chokes while feeding too, my doctor suggested laying down or leaning back while feeding to prevent gravity from pulling the milk out it's helped a lot.
