Anyone ever heard of no dairy before a year old? Or am I mistaken?

I know the Dr told me no water before a year old and I just started giving fruit juice. I thought I was also told no dairy before a year old? Is this true and why?

No water? I haven't heard that. We're avoiding juice.
She gets 24oz of breast or bottle a day and we're aiming for 6oz of water from the sippy cup. 2oz at each meal.
I was told no whole milk as a substitute for the rest formula till after a year.
We've been encouraged to give her baby yogurt when she was on medicine to help with her digestion.

My 10 month old gets water with his meals (he's still breastfed on demand). We tried to introduce dairy at 8 months on the advice of our doctor but he had an anaphylactic reaction to it so he obviously hasn't had any since. He's got a lot of other allergies unfortunately, but they do say early introduction of common allergens is recommended and associated with reduced risk of allergies. You're not supposed to replace formula or breastmilk with cows milk until after 1 year old.

No water?! At 6months my doc encouraged me to let her take aips of water here and there. At 9 months they said five her a sippy cup of water to have with her solids meals. 
As for dairy - I was told eggs at 4 months. 
My daughter has had eggs, cheese and licks of ice cream since 6-9 months old.

At 9 months, the doctor encouraged me to start incorporating dairy...just no milk as others have said. He loves cottage cheese, yogurt and cheese cubes

Definitely give water! I've heard no dairy but I believe some people start introducing it around 10 months. My son really likes almond milk but I just give it to him once in awhile, still breastfeeding

My mom said she gave it to all three of us starting at 10 months. I know the do's and dont's of every generation are different, way back in the day animals milk not just cow milk was used as well as wet nursing when another women who could produce breast milk fed other children that weren't hers.the first "formula" was created using cows milk and a mixture of flour and wheat. Cows milk and condensed milk were used in a formula base up until the late 1900's.

Nope my Dr said milk was ok and my son is 10 and half months now

They say no whole milk until 1 but no dairy is crazy since formula is almost all dairy unless it's a non dairy formula and please give your child water if you are giving solids! My son lives on yogurt and cheese!
