11 weeks and still haven't heard a heartbeat?

I've been to my OB 4-5 times already. She was always quick to point out my baby's heart but she still wont let me hear a heartbeat. Went today for my 11 week check up and she showed me a white dot flickering away but she didnt tell me how many beats per minute nor did I get to hear anything. With my first, I got to hear it right away. Is this normal?

It's normal to not be able to hear the heartbeat until 13-14 weeks. That's when I was able to first hear it with my first child. Up until then we saw it flickering on the ultrasound screen. Only a trained technician can tell you the heart rate with the ultrasound.  Next time you have an ultrasound with a tech just ask them while they're doing it. You can​ ask them to explain and show You anything while in there.

I was told by the sono that I'll hear my babies heartbeat at 16 weeks with my midwife and a Doppler. You can hear them through the ultrasound but it's very very strong waves and the only reason she would use it is if she couldn't hear a heartbeat. As long as you can see it it's fine and safer not to apparently

I heard mine for the first time yesterday at exactly 12 weeks.

Only heard mines at 7 weeks went yesterday at 11 weeks and didn't hear it she just showed me it was flickering I wasn't mad as long as everything was good
