I had this problem of the tampon being fine when I stood up, but as soon as I sit down it felt like I was being stabbed. I'm a virgin so that's not a pleasant feeling. I asked some ladies here and they told me to make sure I had the tampon in high enough AND to try a slightly smaller absorbtion. It helped me tremendously, so I'm going to pass it on to you. Hope that helps!

Lol yes. I had this last month. I had a whole tortured afternoon too because it had slid down and it was making me really itchy and it slightly hurt. I couldn't get to a bathroom for 2 1/2 hours because nothing was near and i was working. It was really the worst.
