Thoughts on Crib Mobiles?

Thoughts? Did your baby enjoy having one or are they unnecessary?

We have one that is voice activated and use it every single day. My son is now 11 months. If he yells or cries in the middle of the night, it turns on automatically and he goes back to sleep. I'm getting a second one for my daughter that is due in October.

Well my son seems to think its playtime with the projector mobile so we had to take it away. He would giggle and talk to it. There was no sleeping to i took it away so now i use it for play time only. Personally i wouldn't bother and id keep the room quiet and dark.

I had gotten a really cool one but when I decided to sleep train our infant (at 12 weeks), I was told not to use them. That a mobile would indicate play time. The crib was for sleeping so it was suggested that I keep it that way. It worked best for us without one. There are some really cute ones out there, though!

I found the only time I ever really used it was if I was in her room putting away laundry or something. It was a fun distraction when she was 1-3ish months old. We never used it while she slept. I agree with whoever posted that a dark, quiet room is the best for sleeping. 😊

My baby likes looking at them. It's not necessary though.
