Breastfeeding Until What Age?

Until what age will you be breastfeeding? After what age does it become being strange.

I'm hoping to make it to the 2 year mark atleast but I'll follow my daughters needs. I really don't like people referring to breastfeeding as strange. Children will naturally wean when they want to and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Most cultures breastfeed up until between the ages of 3 and 8. Breastfeeding is not a sexual process and therefore cannot be strange.

My daughter is nursing, she is three. I'm currently pregnant. Both will be nursed until they're ready and they decide when they're done. I don't think any age is 'strange'. It's a normal process and has benefits no matter what age. Milk doesn't stop being nutritious once they hit six months, or one year, or whatever.

I'm going to start weaning at 1. For me personally, it would be weird to go past then. However, for others I wouldn't find it strange until the kid reached closer to school age.

I'm gonna shoot for 18 months but I only made it to 11 with my first,  I think after 2 years old it starts to get weird.

I'll never understand how people don't see that breastfeeding is normal, natural, and healthy. I had my son March 2. I have low supply so I'll be thrilled if we can make it another 4 months to his 6 month mark. Ideally I'd like to go a year or longer. But that also complicates things since legally employers only have to give you up to the one year mark to pump at work.
