Do uti's feel worse before they get better?

I'm 34 and have never really had one before- I think I did 7 months ago but suffered through it naturally and it went away in about two weeks.

This time I am 24 weeks pregnant and taking antibiotics. My issue is that after I take a dose, I have the urge to pee much more and the tingling/burning in my bladder gets more intense. Is it from the medicine doing it's thing?

I didn't take one yesterday because it's so intense. But this morning I did and I have to stay close to my bathroom...just hope it's a flushing out type process?

I've not experienced that myself so I can't help there, I do advise you have a probiotic after you have your medicine and drink plenty though!

If you're taking the prescribed antibiotics, you should be feeling better almost immediately

This happened to me & the nurse said the meds probably gave me a yeast infection since they tend to do that. So she prescribed me the cream for that & all was fine!

If you are on antibiotics you cannot skip doses. It will get worse if you don't take your medication as prescribed. I used to get utis and I can tell you that one medication made me really sick so I went back to the doctor and they switched me to another antibiotic. Don't skip doses though. Go talk to your doctor. It should start to feel better in 24 hours.
