Do any of you worry about the milk caked up on the baby's tongue & if so how do you get it off?

Just wet a small wash cloth and wipe off their tongue and gums.

I was told to wipe down​ their gums with a piece of gauze then when their teeth start coming in use a infant toothbrush.

If their tongue is caked in white it could be thrush.   Might not be but I'd def look into it.    I've had thrush multiple times as an adult and you have a white caked up tongue

Id use a cloth with water to wipe but id ask abt giving water to a newborn..My son is 2 months and pediatrician said not yet but alil to clean gums and tongue.Its the flouride in water i think is what he said.

Tiffany hunny...ur baby needs water. Even if you give 1 ounce at every feeding its fine. As far as cleaning ur baby's mouth..start to add that in with ur baby's daily cleaning process. Good luck to u ☺️

At around 4mths you should give ur baby water. If he/she drinks 6oz of formula than 2oz out of that 6 should be water. If your exclusively nursing then latch him/her off after about 5-10mins give water and if your baby still seems hungry then put him/her back on.
