My boyfriend told me straightly that he will never marry me

I am black (from Africa) and he's Arabic(from Saudi Arabia). We met in school (we are international students)and start loving each other. I am a Christian and he's Muslim but we respect each other's religion and choices. He told me that his family will choose his future wife and she has to be from his culture and that really hurt my feelings. I am confused because if he really loves me he won't let anyone destroy that but at the same time I don't want him to disrespect his family. I don't know if I should leave him or give me some time to think about it. I need some honest advices please and please don't be mean because I know he's a good person.
