Does your toddler sleep in their own room?

Question

If in their own room how did they handle the change? It would also be interesting to here from families with siblings that share a room at a young age.

My two year old starts in her room then comes to mine sometimes if she wakes up.  She acctually handled it really well.  For a week i had her nap in her big girl bed, in the afternoon, then after the week i put her in her room at night with a couple nightlights.  I think the first night i didnt sleep at all, but she did just fine.

I've got a 12/month old, a 2yo and 4yo sharing a room. They love it. Or youngest was in our room until she began sleeping through and then was moved to be with her siblings. We still have a spare mattress in our room at the end of the bed, so if any of them wake or are distressed in the night, they come in to us. Sometimes all three do, but rarely. They just have a nice bedtime routine together and go to sleep listening to stories. Sometimes the nearly 5yo comes out and stays up for an extra twenty mins. It works well for us but provably would not work for everyone, given your children and situation.

My 3 yo will come snuggle in our bed in the morning, but she sleeps the night in the room she shares with her sisters.

I don't have any experiences because I don't have any children yet but my friend's son is 2 years old and he just wanted to sleep in his own bed in his own room :) I think they'll handle it well but depends on the toddler :)
