2nd baby: baby shower vs no baby shower?

Barely there baby shower the first time for baby girl, no one shows any interest in a baby shower for baby number 2.  Hold my own, or let it go??

You can do whatever you want! The whole one shower thing is a thing of the past.

Is there a big gap between the babies? You can do a sprinkle. Honestly it's up to you either way.  The whole 1 shower thing isn't a set in stone rule but most expect you to have most of what you need still if they are close together.

My babies are only 21 months apart but there are still things we need for this baby. I don't necessarily expect gifts but we are still going to celebrate and have a little party and I made a registry for those who want to know what we do need. My mother in law keeps telling me that we shouldn't need anything but we are having a boy this time so I don't have any clothes plus we need things like a crib mattress,  pack and play, and a few other odds and ends. If people think another shower is annapropriate  I wouldn't be offended if something didn't buy me a gift.

I had a baby sprinkle with my 2nd and everyone really loved the idea. I made it girls only since my first one was a co-ed shower. Also I didn't do anything huge, I took all the girls (8 of us) to brunch at a cute restaurant and we all chatted and had a great time than they gave me my gifts and that was it. I loved it and so did everyone else. I wanted to do the same thing with my 3rd but according to my mother and sister no one is going to buy me anything since this being my third kid I should have all the stuff I need already. But I really don't, so I'm just going to try and buy everything myself and not do anything.
