Is it wrong to take a 6 week old baby to public areas?

Question

I've been told to not take my baby to public crowded areas until she's 3 months. That is my plan but hubby gets so annoyed with how in his words "over protective" I am of my baby. He has been pushing me to go out in public areas with baby. I'm always worrying about whether baby might catch something or get sick. 
Just recently I noticed that every time we go out, my baby gets red bumps all over her skin. Is this due to taking her out??? Is it the car seat or basinet that she might be alergic to???

We have been taking our little guy out since he was a week old, I often keep him covered or wear him in my Ergo so no one is tempted to touch him. Is your baby in the sun when she gets the bumps? Mine does the same thing, he has my red hair and fair skin.

Each to their own. We have also stayed away from shopping centres etc etc since birth. We've only visited our parents at their houses, gone for pram walks around the neighborhood, to the doctors checkup appointment and weekly clinic & vacs apps.  That's it. We also said 3 months and next weekend she will be almost 3 months and we are going out for Mothers Day to a restaurant. I've seen too many babies almost die because of viruses they picked up when they were newborns. So I don't judge, we all parent differently and it has been incredibly hard not to go out but this is what both my husband and I chose. We live in a super bug age - we aren't living in caves with fresh air and dirt any more. Don't get me wrong though, if Alice's dummy falls on the floor I just pop it first in my mouth and then in hers. 😂😱 Dirt good - freaky germs bad. I think about it in the way a cat learns a new home & area- they make circles. First they circle the house, then circle the garden, then a little bigger circle over the wall, and so on until they've circled the neighborhood. So we decided to let her get used to the germs in our house, then our parent's house etc etc. Give her a chance for her immune system to kick in. But as I said, each to his own so you do what works for your baby. X

I took my baby out when she was 10 days old! I needed out of the house! And I also started going back to work 3 weeks pp as I'm a nanny so didn't really mind going back since I will still be with my baby girl. In my head I like that she's been able to go outside and be around people and go to stores and be comfortable in the car because my boyfriend and I are very outdoorsy and like going places and doing fun things and want to get her used to it early so she's more comfortable. And in my person opinion you can't shelter a baby from all germs! Just keep your hands clean don't let strangers touch, and you should be fine!

We've been taking our daughter out since she was a week old. I'm just not letting people touch her and use alcohol on my hands before I handle her. She's now eight weeks and had been to a few restaurants and cafes, the shops, and on the train.

My baby is 6 weeks too :) we don't go to any shopping centers - only parks or places wth open air and our family or friends houses who we know are healthy. Even then, LO is completely covered in his car seat or my liliebaby.
We're waiting until he's closer to 2 months to go shopping, this is per our pediatritians recommendation. 
I was on bed rest the last 3 months of my pregnancy so staying in isn't an adjustment for me unfortunately.. I've just got more cabin fever! LO's health isn't worth any risk in my opinion, you never know!

I just baby wear. Nobody bothers us, and she's not touching anything germy. It's good to expose them to some germs to help build their immune system.

I've been taking her out since she was 10 days old. Difficult to stay in when you have another child. We even went on a plane trip. What I do is either keep her in the carrier or if she's in her stroller, I use the nursing cover as a canopy.
I would agree that you don't want to go to overcrowded places or places with many sick people but you need to find a balance. Some germs are good for kids as it helps their immune system to learn how to fight them.

My LO is almost two months - we've flown and I take him out. I find covering the stroller or wearing him keeps people out of his face. We also do a lot of hand washing :) you should do what makes you comfortable - going for a walk outside might do both of you good though.

My son left the hospital when he was 5 days old and we took him out the next day. Babies need fresh air. We don't let random people touch or hold him but he goes everywhere with us. We take him and our 17 month old to the park once a week, grocery store, mall, families houses. We did the same with our 1st and she's had 2 colds and 1 GI bug since she's been born, super healthy!
