confused on due date

According to my last period, I am 5 weeks 2 days. I tracked ovulation and when we BD and it would actually have me at 3 weeks 2 days. My first sono and OBGYN appointment is May 22nd because they said that would be me at 8 weeks, but isn't it only 6 weeks? Super confused, any advice welcome!
