am I overreacting?

A girl I used to work with whom I'm friends on Facebook has been hitting some hard times. I talk to her a lot and she was so excited when I told her my husband is adopting my son and we have a baby on the way (which she obviously knows cost money as she knows we did ivf as well as paid for a lawyer for the adoption) Well she had to quit her job due to her neuropathy and diabetes from what she told me and she also turned down a hospital job I had referred her for and spoke highly of her when I referred her. Well she message me today saying how embarrassed she is but she is about to get evicated with her kids on the street because she quit her one job and she knows I have a baby on the way but she'll pay me back. I am very upset by this for one I am pregnant and that's kind of messed up to ask a pregnant women who is saving for her family and about to go on maturnity leave for help. Am I overreacting? I told her we can't afford that and do feel bad but seriously that's a little messed up to ask an expecting mother for help with money in my opinion.

You already helped her with trying to get her a job, and even though she has diabetes and neuropathy, I work with many people who work with those conditions. If it's so bad she can't work she needs to apply for disability. Do not feel bad, your family comes first.

If you're uncomfortable just saying "no" maybe just tell her that you guys don't have any extra money right now due to the legal expenses, doctor bills for you and the baby, etc

I would tell her to look into state services and see how they can help! With no income if she's a SM she should get help with section 8, medical and food.

I would say no as well. You are preparing for a baby and you probably don't have the space for her and her kids. As sad as it is to see a friend go through that your family comes first and you've got enough to worry about at this time

I would also decline. It sucks, but keeping a part time job is important with kids, what did she expect would happen by quitting her job?
Health issues or not, you gotta work the hand you're dealt.
Hopefully it doesn't kill your friendship.
