OPK- How do they work?

Ok, new to this TTC thing so bare with me 😊 The clear blue ovulation test- do you use it once and then throw it out??? Because if I'm not ovulating it would be so annoying (and expensive) to have to go buy more... or how does it work??? Are there better kits to get? Let me know!

How the test works: you pee in a disposable cup and dip the test in for however long the instructions say (mine is 3 seconds but i have to hold it for 4 or 5 because it takes a second longer to absorb, apparently...) then you wait for a few minutes to read the result. The control line will automatically show up & will be the darkest (usually) when you get an LH surge (which is what causes O, or ovulation) the test line will be as dark as or darker than the control line. You will ovulate 12-48 hours after getting a positive result.

Basically you can buy them on amazon if you dont know when you O. I got mine for $20 (i think) for 50 tests (easy@home brand). What you'll wanna do is take 1 test between 11am-2pm or between 5-8pm. But make sure you take it around the same time every day. Once your test line starts to get darker (the box indicates which is test line and which is control line), you'll wanna take one test in the 1st time frame & one test in the 2nd time frame, making that twice a day. You can tape them in a notebook for reference, even though the instructions say to not read it after about 5 mins... I hope this helps!!!
