Membrane Leaking at 24 weeks
So Yesterday I went to see my doctor when I felt a slight amount of liquid leaking. I had been having increased discharge in the last few weeks and was monitoring to be safe and the liquid yesterday was much more watery so they had me come for a swab for peace of mind.
Unfortunately, the swab confirmed it is amniotic fluid leaking and they think there is a small leak in the sac of our little girl (she is currently head down next to my cervix) Our little boy is feet down and his head is up near my right rib and they say his sac is fine and intact.
I was rushed via ambulance from my local hospital to the teaching hospital in our city that is 30 minutes away from our house and I am being monitored for infections and have been given steroids to develop the lungs in case the babies arrive. I am quite scared but I am trying my best to stay positive and hope they decide to stay in for as long as possible.
Has anyone been put on bedrest this early at 24 weeks? I am terrified thinking the survival rate this week is only 50/50 snd high odds as well for complications with all the intensive care they will receive.
