cervix check now watery discharge

I had my cervix checked for the first time and found I'm only 1cm dilated. But since then I've been having watery discharge w a littl brown spotting. I was spotting after the exam so I know it's from that. But the watery stuff, could it be the start of my mucus plug? Or maybe just a side effect of my cervix stretching? Haven't had any cramping or any signs of labor so just hoping this is a sign of something progressing
