Smiley Faces?

Question

When did everyone's little one start smiling at them/on purpose? I can get a smile occasionally but it's few and far between at 7 weeks old. My poor hubby can't get one at all.

My LO is 8 wks yesterday. I got her first intentional smiles when I was taking her 4 weeks pictures and pretty much can get them whenever I want from that point on. My husband gets them every once in awhile even now, a week ago she smiled for my friend who she sees pretty regularly that was the first person besides us. It definitely depended on who and how awake, full, etc my LO was feeling at the time.

she started around 2 weeks, much to my surprise! the midwife pointed it out as I thought it was just coincidence or gas.  at 4 weeks it became consistent. now she's 5 weeks and smiling all the time! but my friend's little dude is 6 months old and his smiles are few and far between, he's just super serious. so interesting how different their little personalities are!

My daughter is almost 6 weeks and she smiles on purpose every so often. She loves when she hears daddy talk and follows him around with her eyes when he talks and I've gotten a smile or 2 when I talk to her. Other than that, she's pretty serious.

We could purposefully provoke the occasional smile around 3/4 weeks. By six he was smiling all the time, especially in response to being smiled at.

My son started smiling around 4 weeks! Mostly when he wakes up in the morning and sees me or his dad for the first time. I wouldn't worry too much if your baby is smiling but just not often all babies are different😙

My son is almost 8wks and social smiles are still hard to get. Occasionally he'll giggle but he's mostly a very serious little dude. It makes me sad because my 17 month old started smiling all the time by like 4wks.

Around 5 or 6 weeks i was getting a few smies a day. Now she's 8 weeks and she smiles pretty often. Especially when she just wakes up and is well rested.
