Gestational Diabetes?

Any information I could get would be wonderful.  I have iron anemia and just found out gd as well.  I go in for two appointments tomorrow and don't know what to expect the next few months.

I have GD and am anemic as well. I was anemic with my first and was put on a slow release iron pill. Everything was fine throughout pregnancy. I did deliver her at 36 weeks (unrelated) and did end up staying 2 extra days in the hospital due to anemia. 
This time around with GD I have to test myself 4x a day and just recently was put on a pill at night to help lower my fasting sugar. Starting in June (34 weeks) I will be going for two weekly appointments. First appointment will be an ultrasound with a NST and second is just a NST.. that will be weekly. Along with my regular OB appointment. I also send my sugars in weekly to Maternal Fetal Medicine. Your numbers throughout the day (post meals) can absolutely become manageable by diet. The hardest to manage is your fasting sugar as it is mostly controlled by hormones. Try not to stress! You'll find reassurance with the more frequent doctor visits. It's all about diet, portion control and just watching your carbs. Good luck!

I just found out on Friday I have GD. I have to check my glucose levels four times a day; met with a high-risk specialist and had a growth ultrasound to check on baby today (she is fine); and I see a diabetes dietician tomorrow. The specialist said I'll do growth scans every four weeks and I'll do non-stress tests every two weeks and they'll measure the fluid around baby then, too. I send my glucose log to the specialist once a week so he can determine if I need medication or not. They also said they won't let me go past 40 weeks so if I don't have the baby by 39 or 40 weeks they'll induce me or schedule a c-section, depending on baby's size. I failed my test and have history of gestational diabetes so my dr went ahead an ordered me to track my blood sugar and it's been low so I don't think I have it . Just eat protein foods and lay of sugar & carbs (carbs also turn to sugar)

I found out I have gd and anemia today as well...
In all honesty, I'm not exactly that stressed out about it, all because I have the support there to guide me through it. I only JUST scraped into the gd bracket, and it's all precautionary. The anemia on the other hand? Well that's been an issue I've always suffered from, and still haven't been able to fully correct it after over 10years.. I was surprised to hear my iron levels were normal for my first and second trimesters, but not surprised that they're extremely low  now at 28+2. I could tell that they were low again by my body's symptoms.

Maybe I should be a bit more concerned? But stressing about it makes matters worse for me...

i am 30 weeks preggo and found out when i was 13 weeks preggo that i had gd.... i test 4 times a day and because diet didnt control high levels was put on insulin 4 times a day at 16 weeks..... i see my regular ob, an endocrinologist for my diabetes and a high risk specialist to manage everything... my dr said i would be induced in my 39th week as long as baby makes it that long and i have no other complications

Found out today I have GD. Devastating news.  Waiting for the specialist to call so we can meet & go over things.  This is scary & I'm not one to take these things lightly, but I know we can get through this. I know we will be okay if we take care of ourselves.  Good luck to you. Keep us updated.

Eat iron rich foods, take an iron supplement....your doctor should tell you the proper dosage and you'll want to find one easy on the stomach that has vitamin c in it.....take a stool softener with the iron supplement to prevent constipation.
Drink a gallon of water daily.
Eat small meals high in healthy protein and complex carbs every 2 to 3 hours to help manage your diabetes. No processed foods and no simple carbs.
