Hi all! My husband and I have been TTC for 17 months with no luck. I had an HSG done back in February with semi inconclusive results...all of the dye immediately drained through my left tube meaning that obviously at least that one is open. The radiologist seemed to think that my right tube was just "spasming" & told me that this was a normal, healthy, and successful procedure. When my fertility doc called me with the results a few days later she seemed to think there was a good possibility that my right tube is in fact blocked. Anyways, she discussed with me that the chance of conceiving is higher after the HSG procedure for about 3 months or so, but after that she would like to start me on a monitored cycle of Clomid. So here we are about 3 months since the HSG, and if AF shows up in a few days, I think I'm ready to start Clomid. I haven't done a ton of research on it but have heard mixed reviews and am wondering if anyone can tell me personal experiences? It's been confirmed that I do ovulate on my own every month and all other blood tests, U/S, sperm analysis have come back normal, just a possibility of a blocked tube...is it normal for my Dr. to prescribe Clomid in this case? What kind of side effects might I be looking at? What does a "monitored Clomid cycle" involve?
