Why do people use contraceptive pills for prevention?

Call me oblivious, but I'm wondering why people go on pills to prevent pregnancies?

Isn't a condom enough? Or are those on the pill often having sex unprotected (eg feels better etc).

My boyfriend and I use condoms as a method. But I only sees him once a week and never had an issue with it. I'm on the pill too, but for acne / hormonal reasons. Other than this I find condoms are sufficient. Hence I'm curious to know :)

Added: forgot to mention I only started the pills a week ago.

Condoms feel rubbish I feel numb when I use them. Long term partner that I trust so no reason for condom x

You could turn that question around and ask yourself why you use condoms when you use the pill? Similar effectiveness. Plus if your in a commited relationship less need for barrier method. 😊

I also use it for my acne and to control my periods. Specifically the period that was due my wedding week. I got on the pill for really just 1 week but ended up staying on it to have sex without a condom.

Feels better without a condom I've been with my partner for 4 years and only used a Condom twice and the second time we took it off half way through, not saying I wouldn't ever use them though, just works in our relationship
