Lotion burns tattoo?

I got my sternum tattoo done last Friday and today it still burns. I'm using lubriderm sensitive skin lotion. Before, I used to regular one and had no problem. Should I switch back or try something else?

I use the aquafor gel and it works like a charm

I use unscented Aveno lotion and it never bothered any of my tattoos!

Lotion will not infect your tattoo, and petroleum jelly will prevent it from breathing so don't listen to that comment. Look for lotion without alcohol in it, or use coconut oil

Nonscented lubriderm is the best lotion to use on a new tattoo, scented lotions have alcohol in them and will sting tender skin!

I used plain lubriderm. Non scented. Stick with that.
