When do we switch to solids?

My daughter is 4 months. When do we switch to solids and exactly how do we go about making the transition? Any and all info is appreciated

We started at 4 months way easier than at 6 months. Know when they are ready if they are pushing the food back out not ready. My son was. We just bought fruits/n veggies labeled with 1 for begining and cereal. 
Stay away from banana 
((constipation made my boy so angry)) 
Always start single item like sweet potatoe and wait to see if they have a reaction. 
*** don't set the baby food down ... unless you want it thrown at you lol **  also nothing ever with honey or maple syrup cause they can't digest it till after they are 1 years.

I wouldn't start until 6 months. Wait until your baby's pediatrician gives you the go ahead

We started at 5.5 months when he was sitting well on his own. Started with sweet potatoes. It took him a few days to get the hang of this new activity we were doing. He's loved everything we've given him except green beans. We mostly do store bought purées (his favorite right now is pears and kale) but we've also given him some stuff and let him figure it out like a banana or chunks of avocado. We always offer solids after his bottle so he fills up on formula which has his nutrients. Take it slow, remember food before 1 is just for fun and learning new tastes and textures, so don't get upset if baby doesn't like it or only wants 2 bites. No need to rush into it early.

I started at 4 months. That's when my baby was ready and wanted it. We have him everything but beef. We did purees and the food net with solids for him to munch on. Then at 6 we went to solids only. Eats what we eat. thats not for everyone but my baby loves it!

I would talk to your pediatrician first and foremost. They tend to be pretty split between 4 and 6 months to start solids.

That being said, we started after his 4 month checkup. His pediatrician said to start with cereal and that if he took to it well (not spitting it out because of the tongue reflex), then he was ready. He also said to wait three days in between introducing new foods so we'd know if he had a reaction to something.

I make my own baby food and we've worked through most of the vegetables. I give him 2 oz of baby food at dinner time. I make sure to breastfeed him after so I know he's still getting enough liquids.

When do we switch to solids?
