What to do when LO suddenly starts screaming when I put lotion on him

My son is 2 months old and just this week after I gave him a nice warm bath using aveeno comforting bath with vanilla and lavender I put the Johnson and Johnson night time lotion and he started screaming. I am confused because this never happened before I don't know what's going on
I thought there lotion was too cold so I used warm water to heat it up and the same thing happened.

My son is the same, I just try to warm it with my hands first then I pat him with a towel after and cuddle him so he's warm and happy then throw on the Jammie's and he's good to go!

My son did this with the lavender lotion. His skin was also turning red. Turns out he had an allergy to lavender and it was burning his skin. We put him in the bath and washed him off and he was all better. We only use the baby bees lotion on him now.

My baby does the same thing with lotion after his bath, it is just cold and wet feeling I think. Once we get his jammies on he is fine and all cozy.

I put the bottle of lotion in the bath with us, that way when I go to apply it after she's dry, the lotion is warm :)

Same thing happened to us a few nights ago, but with eucerin lotion, either allergy or he hates lotion

Its just cold. They like being warm and snugly.

This happened to me too! My LO loves bath time and used to be happy on her changing table after as I dried her off and dressed her. I noticed her skin was getting dry so I started using baby magic. The first night she tolerated it and on we went. The next time she took a bath she started SCREAMING as soon as she hit the changing table, and all through the lotion. I thought it was the lotion so for two baths I didn't use and she still screamed. I thought either she was getting cold or didn't want to get out of the tub and had just learned that's what comes after. We use the whole biggest, thickest towels of hers we have in case being cold was the problem. I thought it was the weirdest thing. She definitely can anticipate events now (knows laying on the boppy means boobie is coming, etc) so I think it's just she's figured out she eventually has to get out of the bath and get changed.
