cloth diapers?!?

Question

I was considering switching to cloth diapers but I was wondering when you change baby do you just take the liner out or does the pee go through to the cloth and need washing every change.

There are quite a few different types of cloth. We use pockets or AIO's. They have a pocket that you stuff with an insert. When diaper is changed the insert is pulled out and the diaper and the insert are put into a wet bag until wash day( usually every 2 to 3 days for us). This one below is a pocket. It has snaps that you use to adjust size. Once you get the hang of cloth, it's just as easy as disposables.

If you are using the cloth nappy/prefold and cover system then yes you need to change the cloth nappy each time as the wee will soak through the liner. It just catches the worst of the poo! I then just wipe the inside of the cover with a tissue to dry it out and then insert a clean nappy and liner and off we go again.

If you use covers and inserts, you can reuse the cover multiple times before washing. Pockets, the whole diaper needs to be washed. I strongly recommend checking out fluff love university, they have really great information, especially regarding setting up a good wash routine.

We've been cloth diapering for 10 months with no problems. I started with disposables at night and cloth during the day but now we're cloth full time :) Good luck!
