is anyone else's 8 month old not sitting up fully without support?

Hi guys just wondering if there is anyone else who has an 8 month old not fully sitting up unless supported. My LO is always lunging for things or going backwards and I'm getting a little worried that he hasn't gotten it yet. We practice everyday. My pedetrician said not to worry until 9 months, but he'll be 9 months in 3 weeks. Do they just get it one day? Will he surprise me and just do it? He also isn't crawling either so I feel like he is behind 😩 tell me I'm not alone.

Not sure my little girl could roll both ways at 4 months, sit at 6 months and can crawl at 7 months. Shes just starting to pull herself up at 7.5 months. I guess they're all different? Shes my first baby and ive been off work the whole time so far and im with her 100% of the time teaching her and playing etc

Thank you guys for responding. Just yesterday at 8.5 months my LO finally can sit unsupported for lengthy amounts of time and today was even longer. I guess he did it when he was ready. It was literally over night. Before he would launch backwards the minute I would try to sit him down and now he is playing with toys while sitting. Yay !!! 🎉🎉

Just continue to practice. Put toys all around baby so when they reach for he toy it helps them practice their balance. My son sat up wobbly at 5 months then 2 weeks later cracked it.

My friends baby couldn't sit for the life of him. Always tumbled all different ways. Then at 10 months crawled and can sit up now after crawling so who knows what goes on with our babies

My daughter will be 8 months the 21st n can sit unsupported BUT cannot get to the position without my help. I have to still give her my hands for her to pull up with to sit. She rolled back to belly first n it took her til around 4 or 5 months to figure out how to roll both ways. She also has no interest in crawling but is figuring out she can use me to pull herself up n take off walking. I wouldn't worry they all develop at different rates!

You are DEFINITELY not alone! My boy is 8months 3 days and he cannot sit unsupported. He sits perfectly fine on his bumbo chair reaches for toys etc and can sit using both jnds for support for about 30 sec but that's it. I was worried too but I guess every baby is different and they will get it eventually.

My babygirl is not sitting at all.. and it seemslike she is not interested in sitting up 🙃 she has the ability to do sth I call drunk-soldier-army-crawl which means everything with rolling/dancing/stretching/turning arround.. 😂😂😂

My son couldn't get it for the longest time, kept trying and then one day he just did it. I wouldn't stress about it

My son did it out of the blue at 5 months. Toppled a lot so I just practiced it with him everyday. Instead of putting him in his extrasaucer I'd put him onnhe floor with toys scattered around him and it strengthened his muscles when reaching for his toys.

My daughter will be 8 mos on 5/15 and she doesn't sit for very long unassisted.  She can technically do it but if she starts to topple she can't stop herself.  She also doesn't crawl yet (although it'll happen soon because she does get in all fours and do the rocking  thing and she's a great army crawler).
