When would you let your daughter wear makeup?

My parents started letting me wear makeup around 12 when I entered jr high (when the school let girls wear makeup) but from then until now (I'm in Highschool)  I typically don't wear it. What are your thoughts?

Whenever she wants. I'd rather her wear makeup then do drugs, plus makeup won't get you in trouble. So what she has done sparkly glitter and crayon stuff on her face?

There is worse things a girl can do then wear makeup, that's why I don't understand parents who are restrictive over it

When ever she wants. I know for a fact it will not be because she's ashamed of her face. Because I plan on being a parent will talk to my child about insecurities if she comes to me worrying about them. I want her to enjoy her life not feel like there's a certain age where you can do frivolous things like put on makeup. It's like nail polish, I find that it's a form of self-expression. One way a person could know I love color is by looking at my nails. Makeup is an artistry shit if she can perfect it she has a gift and at least I know if wanted to she can make career out of it. There are so many things is this world that's against women living there lives I will be damned if I'm on of them in my child's life.

7th or 8th grade maybe? I guess I can't really know until I actually have a kid. I started wearing a little makeup at around that age.

I'm not going to be really restrictive about this. I'm all for self expression through things like clothing and makeup. I wouldn't want her to wear too much out of concern for her skin. But when she starts middle school, some eye liner, mascara, some eyeshadow, and a little lip gloss isn't going to hurt her.
