When do you working mommies plan on taking your maternity leave?

FTM mom here and I'm just curious as to when women take maternity leave on average.

Answer

I'm working until my due date! I have to schedule it a head of time, which is of course impossible. So I'm scheduled to work up until my due date, but if I go early, they'll just have to deal.

I'm taking 12 weeks leave. But I have a feeling I'll go late (my mom went 10 days late with both me and my brothers), so I didn't want to leave early and have half my maternity leave taken up before I even had the baby!

In an ideal world I'd go 4-5 days after my due date. That way it won't mess up work and I still have a few days off before baby. If only I could plan these things!!

Answer

If I don't go into labor by my due date my doctor will induce. So I plan on working up until my due date. After I have the baby I will be out for 4 months.
