Any moms sharing a room w/baby?

With our first daughter, she had her own room, I decorated a full nursery for her and had her crib, changing table, rocking chair, EVERYTHING in there for her that we could possibly need plus lots and lots of closet space.... now with baby number 2 we didn't do any of that and all we have in our room are a changing table/dresser and her rock and play; our first daughter still has her own room but my SO and I are sharing a room with our second. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to share a room with her! We plan to have both of the girls in a room together whenever baby number 2 is sleeping through the night and will actually sleep in a crib.

How are you moms doing it, with limited space? We're considering buying a mini crib for our room since baby #2 is only sleeping in her rock and play right now but will need her own real bed soon.

Any advice/ recommendations on how to functionally share a room with a 6week old and all of their clothes and things?

Maybe go ahead and organize daughter ones room to make room for daughter 2s things. Might as well put daughter 2s stuff all in there and have her nap in there to get used to it. Both daughters would prob sleep better with an adjustment period. You can put what you need in your room each night.

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment that has an extra room. The extra room can be used as a bedroom but there's no window. That room has all my husbands stuff. His dresser and clothes and all extra stuff. Baby is in our room. It's not a huge room but we make it work. She has a normal size crib and I bought those cube organizers for her clothes. The diapers we have fit under her crib. It took some organizing and our living room has a bit more clutter than we would like but we do what we have to.

My son sleeps in his rock n play.  I place that next to my bed and it is perfect.  I can see him and gently rock him back to sleep if he startles himself awake.  He is 9 weeks and has slept through the night since 4 weeks.
 
I also had a pack n play next to my bed, but I switched that out to his nursery room (he naps there during the day) and put the rock n  play in our room as he sleeps better in that.

Right now, She shares a closet with her brother in his room.
We have a bassinet that attaches to our bed (Chicco next2me) and I have a travel changing pad with pockets for diapers, wipes...etc on my bedside table.
We're moving back home in 2 months so we'll have more space. We'll probably set up her room for her stuff but keep her crib in our room like we did with #1. Easier for breastfeeding and recommended to reduce the risk of SIDS so win/win.

We have a halo bassinet next to our bed. We have a full nursery for him but he doesn't sleep in there yet, plan on him being with us at least 6 months for SIDS risk reasons. The Halo is great because it is right next to the bed and I can bring it a bit over my side and just grab him out to nurse him in the middle of the night. My understanding is that Rock and Plays are not supposed to be used as a bed as they are not flat surfaced. I agree with the other poster that you might want to go ahead and set up the other room for both girls and just have the baby's bed in your room.

I agree with keeping baby's things in her sisters room and the neccessitites in yours. My other advice is to purge and reorganize both rooms. I live in a very tiny house with 2 bedrooms and most of my stuff is in the room with my daughters and the giant guest bed, my SO keeps his clothes in our room. Both are small rooms so before she was born I went through and donated or sold a ton of stuff to make room. I was able to even get rid of a whole dresser! A mini crib is a great idea too, I got one of those and it's great! As long as she isn't abnormally tall, she should be able to sleep in it for many years.
