Would you date someone closer in age to your children than you?

My friend recently told me that her step dad is closer in age to her than her mom I'm not judging but i found this strange and wondering what others would do? My friend is 20 her step dad is 31 and her mom is 43

My dad is 38. I'm 20. His new girlfriend is 24. I'm not going to lie, it bothers me. I've met her twice (they used to live 4 hours away but now they live across the country) and she's super nice and down to earth. I'm just hoping she doesn't want to have kids for 4 reasons 1) My dad has already told me he doesn't want any more 2) My dad couldn't even raise the 5 he had and 3) My younger sister and I both have a kid and I think it would be weird for my son and nephew to have an uncle or aunt that's older than them.

On the other side of the spectrum, my husband is slightly closer to my parents' ages than mine. I've never found it weird, neither have my parents

My fiancé is 36, I'm 20, his son is 17. It's actually not that weird. His son definitley acts way more immature than I think I was at that age.

I don't see that situation as weird at all. If I was like 50 dating a 19 year oldthen it would be a little cringe worthy.
