How much do tattoos hurt?

Okay so I'm 16, but gathering information for when I'm of legal age to get a tattoo (18). But I'm a WIMP! I've handled piercings pretty okay... but like I'm not good with too much pain. So how much pain do you think a tattoo is? I know it also depends on where you get it put as well

Here are my designs (these are inspo pics I do want to change them up and personalize them):

I want to do a combination of these two and make them a half sleeve that I can later expand into a full one.

I want this little cutie but without the "CF" on my ankle or behind my ear/under my hairline on my neck.

I want this one on my ankle as it is more personal so I don't want it shown to the world (plus I plan on being a child psychologist, so I don't want them seeing that I have a tattoo as a reminder of the fact that I too was once suicidal). But it basically means it's where I could've ended my life, but I didn't. I really like the splash of colour as well haha I think it's unique.

This one I want on either the nape of my neck like shown or on my wrist, it has a hidden symbol, the "stem" is the symbol for anorexia, which I've so far overcome. And I want reminders of how far I've come and how much I can. The lotus is also a symbol for peace and recovery I'm pretty sure.

I want this in cursive under my ribs, not big or anything, just a small tattoo. I find this so inspiration and it's helped me when I do have a breakdown and want to starve myself. So since I found that quote it's my go to instead of all that "yay you can do it'll it's more grounding to me

I want to do this as another half sleeve. Because supernatural is my go to when I need to eat. Often when I need to eat I'll sit in front of the television so I don't think about it as much, same with after. It's helped me a lot. There are a lot of changes I wanna make to this one too. I like the car shape and that's my favourite line, but some of the things like the skull and roses don't make sense to me so I'd change them into like cas' handprint + sam's show or angel wings :).

I want this to finish that half sleeve one, I don't know if I'll transform it into a full sleeve or just do like 3/4 or make the other supernatural one a little smaller and keep it a half sleeve. But I have time to think 😁

My boyfriend and I are getting devil warding symbols for SURE (matching couples tattoos!!) I want mine a bit more like this with colour and am gonna get it like on my chest...

I do worry a little about my tattoos and the profession I've chosen I want to do, be they're all coverable so they could still work 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

My goodness that's a lot! Lol but the one on the neck/wrist are easy. My neck one was my first and it honestly felt like a cat scratching at me. The only time it hurt was when he had to get close to my hair line. The healing is honestly what hurt the most on that one. As for my wrist, the only part of that hurt was when he got closer to my wrist area. The tattoo  that hurt the most was my foot because of the bone.

Start with a small tattoo! Atleast youll have an idea of the pain. Dont tattoo yet kn parts where your skin and bones feel more, because thats where it hurts so much! 😂

I only have a couple but basically anything where there's not much between your skin and a bone will probably hurt a lot (top of your foot, ribs, shins etc), the insides of joints (inside of elbow, back of the knee) and the inside of your biceps can hurt a lot too. 
It's super subjective though, mine didn't hurt at all (on my shoulders, back and forearm) but some people have low pain tolerance. Those are the generally painful spots though!

None of mine really hurt and i have 12 i think? My feet hips sides ribs arms back and shoulders. I have an extremely high pain tolerance though. Some people it hurts really bad others its fine. Id start with something small because if its too much and you cant sit through it your tattoos gonna look like poop lol in the end its worth it though if its something you really want. Just keep in mind tattoos are expensive.

Not gonna lie some don't hurt at all, and some will have you in tears. The ones on my chest and shoulder and inside of my arm didn't hurt, but the outside of my arm hurt so bad I literally cried. It also was 4 hours long and had a lot of detail and work. My spine one hurt where it crossed my spine and touched my shoulder blades. My hand one didn't hurt at all. 
It really depends where, how high your pain tolerance is, and how detailed and how long it takes. I'll post a pic of my outer arm one that hurt really bad. I'll also post my chest one that didn't hurt at all, it also shows my shoulder one. The ones on my leg, one hurt and one didn't.

If it's your first time getting a tattoo I would recommend not getting a big one and not putting it on somewhere that hurts a lot. Start by getting to know what you can handle and go on from there.

Hard to say. Depends where you get it and your pain tolerance. I got them in the worst places but didn't hurt me
