Feeling inadequate compared to mom's who 'do-it-all'?

Question

I have a 1 month old at home and haven't even been to the grocery store or cooked dinner yet.  I can barely keep up with her. I feel so inadequate compared to mom's who do so much more than me. I don't understand how they do it. Anyone else feel like this?

It's an illusion. Don't try to hold yourself to impossible standards. Do what you can when you can. It's not a competition

Absolutely no one prepares you for the postpartum period and unfortunately our culture sets up unrealistic expectations. You're not alone and this inadequacy is what led me to become a postpartum doula. I think we all need a village, some need a bigger one than others. I refuse to let new parents struggle when they could be thriving if they had adequate preparation and support.

I have two university degrees, can genetically engineer a mouse, and have managed projects with budgets of hundreds of thousands of dollars. I've managed to cook three meals since my daughter was born 9 weeks ago. 😐

Give yourself sometime. It's only been a month. You guys will eventually find your groove and be able to get things done. As for 'doing it all', we're all just faking it and hoping nobody notices 😜

I have 3 kids ages 4 and under. It's so hard in the beginning because you're sleep deprived and baby isn't on a schedule yet. Once baby is on a schedule and you're sleeping a little better, you'll establish your 'new normal' routine. For example during morning nap every single day  I empty the dishwasher and throw in a load of laundry. Afternoon nap I switch the laundry, do a couple small chores and pop dinner in the oven,  then take something out of the freezer into the fridge for tomorrow. After dinner my hubby does bath time while I do dishes. It's just part of my daily routine now. But with a 1 month old,  it's unrealistic to have all your ducks in a row, you're in survival mode at this point. I don't know any mom who 'does it all' they may look like it on the outside but it's false. My mom stayed at home and we had a home cooked meal and a spotless house. ...but I felt like I hardly saw my mom. She would always shoo me away and give me something to keep me busy so she could clean. Not my priority with my kids. Your kids need YOU more than anything else! :)

I was just saying this. My mom lives with us and still we find it hard to get everything done. Now that he's got more of a schedule at 4 months I get maybe an hour and a half to do something without a baby. And I fight with myself between taking care of myself and doing what needs to be done for the house etc. Im pretty sure the​ ones that do it all secretly do meth or something lol just kidding!

All of the mom's who seem to have it all together are all scatter brained like the rest of us. They just hid it better than some of us. Hahaha! Don't compare yourself to others or you will never be all you can be for your kids. Just focus on your family and do the best you can.

I'm a Mom of 3 little boys ages 5 and under. I also have a full time careee and a house to care for. The biggest adjustment though is going from zero kids, to one. Hands down. It's hard and I get it. I cook a homemade meal every night because that's a priority to me. We all have our priorities. Get yourself a moby wrap. They are good for so many things. Baby will be so cozy and you can multitask with ease. This gets even more important with multiple kids.

In the end though, the time you spend now with your baby is so precious. Don't let anyone make you believe you aren't spending it wisely, and don't put that pressure on yourself. Love always comes first before homemade meals, dishes, laundry, and housekeeping. Love always wins

I have a five month old and I can count on one hand the number of times I was dressed and had dinner on the table with a content baby... I don't think anyone does it all
