What would you do in Aurora (Jennifer L.'s) situation? And what are your thoughts on what ultimately happened in the end between her and Jim (Chris P.)?Â
INFO: Jim awakens on a Mars bound spaceship where he volunteered to help start a new civilization only to discover he woke up 90 years too early. All the other passengers are asleep in the same ship, but after exhausting all options he cannot put himself back to sleep, contact Earth, or reach the sleeping crew. He bides his time living on the ship for a year with no other companion than an android bartender. No doubt the loneliness severely impacts him mentally.
Eventually he spots Aurora, a beautiful young woman in her sleep pod, and investigates her. He became infatuated seemingly on sight. Eventually he looks up her career, video logs, anything he can find.Â
Long story short, he morally struggles on the decision but tampers with her pod which forces her to wake up (and dooming her future/life in the process), pretends it was a strange accident like he was never there, and swoons her over time. They are essentially in love and sleeping with each other until one evening the android accidentally mentions to Aurora what Jim did and she is livid, betrayed, eventually violent.
In the end after almost dying together and helping each other to survive and save everyone, they end up together again and when given the opportunity to go back to sleep Aurora refuses and she stays with Jim, living their life to old age on that ship and probably dying before everyone wakes up.
POLL: Would you rather (A) go back to sleep so you can wake up and complete your dream on Mars like you intended - and probably be able to go back to Earth after to see friends/family/continue life - or (B) stay with the man who broke you out of your chamber to romance you regardless of your life, but you fell in love with him?
