Is a sippy cup necessary?
My 6 month old was ebf until 2 days ago when we started baby led weaning. I'm a SAHM so we're always together & he loves to breastfeed and eats often. Because of this, he never uses a bottle and when we tried to use one a few times so my husband could feed him, he hates it and refuses it. Now, our pediatrician says we need to start using a sippy cup. So we tried to other night & just like with the bottle, he hates it and throws it. Is the sippy cup necessary or can we just skip it since I'm still breastfeeding at the breast anyways & hope to be for a lot longer. I've read that we should switch to a cup at 12 months anyway because it's better for his teeth so is it okay to just wait & try a cup then? I hate to skip it if it's important for development or something. If it is necessary, any tips for helping him to like it?? 😊 thanks!
