Your thoughts and options on people who have felonies and raising children?

I dont think felonies have anything to do with parenting!! I am offended by this poll I am a felon. Things happen in life...am I proud to be a felon? No! But thank god I am it saved my life amd made me into a better woman and mother!! There are plenty of people who dont have felonies who raise children amd are not fit to. Im gonna just stop there.

Felonies can be for anything. A criminal background does not define a person. People are people and there are good parents and bad parents. And cps does not keep up with you just because you have a felony.

Wtf is this post supposed to even benefit anyone???? I keep getting more appalled everytime I read something dumb. My dad was a felon and wound up raising my brother and myself on his own just fine. Homeschooled us, fed and clothed us, provided a roof over our heads. All without child support from my mother.

Definitely depends on what the felony was for. My dad is a convicted felon from something stupid he did as a kid in college. I could never imagine a better father than him. He loved and supported our family everyday and was/is anything but scum. I don't hold his past against him. He made a mistake and learned from it.

It all depends on the person, there are a lot of people in the world, who shouldn't be looking after their kids, but just cause your a felon doesn't mean you don't care for you kids and do everything you can for them

Peoples pasts shouldn't take their chance at parenthood away. Unless it was very evil stuff they were doing. Also if every child were removed from homes simply on that basis the government would have far more children in foster care. That takes a toll on budget and taxes.
