Dating a co worker?

So I just got this job at a kids birthday party place. It's pretty neat. The kids can do different activities like rock climbing and trampoline jumping. But anyway lol the guy who is training me is really attractive and a little flirty. He asked for my number right away and I gave it to him. We don't text very often but we talk a lot at work. He's a year older than me (he's 17 I'm 16) and goes to a different school. He texted me tonight and asked if I wanted to go to lunch and then we could go to work together. I said yes. Do you think he is interested? And if so would it be weird to date a co worker?
