I had what's called "portobello" which is a dusty lavender colour. My wedding colours were plum and grey so the lavender was a perfect match for both!

Your personality will be your way to pick your color!  My dress was white and royal blue.  I didn't want the traditional look.  A friend of mine had a red dress, that was her favorite color.  Times have changed where white isn't a necessity!   Have fun shopping and exploring all of your options!   Prom dresses and brides maid dresses make beautiful wedding dresses, too!

There are a lot of trendy colors that look great(blush, gold, etc), but ivory and white will stand the test of time. It really depends on your personality and whether you want to look back at photos and be a "trendsetter" or have that "classic" look. I chose an ivory/champagne dress and it was just different enough without being over the top.
