When to tell other child and family the news

So I'm going to be 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow and we want to tell our daughter so bad that she is going to be a big sister... I also haven't told my parents yet and don't know how... We ended up moving 1200 miles away from them and they are coming to visit next month should I wait until they come or tell them over the phone ?? Any suggestions ? :)

I couldn't keep my mouth shut I was to happy it happen me and bf were so excited we called his mom my sister my grandma and made a post on facebook I just couldn't hold it in lol but it's all up to u when u wanna tell em

How old is your daughter? Depending on her age it will be very difficult for her to keep it a secret. Even if she tries it's likely she could slip up and say something about the baby or being a big sister. So I would think about waiting unless you are okay with other people knowing also.

I still haven't had the chance to tell my mom or my boyfriends mom. We've told his dad already.

I want both of us to be there and it's been hectic with our schedules. It's hard to not say anything, but I would feel better doing it in person together.

I fall in the camp of people who like to wait until the 2nd tri to share, but my crazy ideas shouldn't have any impact on when other people share.

I think it depends on your family. I have 2 older brothers, and between the 3 of us this will be the 6th baby of the family. With all 6 pregnancies, we pretty much just told each other as soon as we found out. It's been in person, on the phone, or in a text (me and one of my brothers do this, then immediately call of course).  I live 8 hrs away from the rest of my family. I waited a couple days to tell everyone with this pregnancy, and my mom was actually upset I didn't tell her right away.  I can understand wanting to do it in person, but I think I'd be too excited to wait.

Ive told my mum, my sister in law, brothers and 2 girlfriend's. Havent told mother in law yet as they r away and were away the wk they get back

My husband couldn't wait after our first doctor appointment. He called his parents in the car on the way home. We thought I was 8 weeks at the time and had planned on telling parents only but doctor said only 6w2d but he told them anyways. I told my parents in person later the same day. I'm an in person kind of teller. I'll tell a few other close friends around 8 weeks and extended family and the general public at 12 weeks.

My son is 8 years old and he saw my first ultra sound photo on my desk, he came up to me and said is this a photo of a baby? I said yes. He said I'm  going to have a baby brother or baby sister? I said yes. His eyes got watery and hugged me so tight. It was an amazing feeling. I can't believe he felt that way about being a big brother. His responsabilty is to give the dog food and now he saying he doesn't want that responsibility anymore he says he's baby sister or brother now is. So cute.
