baby weights 5.5 lbs at 33 weeks.... how accurate is ultrasound weight ?

Hello ladies, how accurate is the weight in the ultrasound ? I'm a first time mom and I have no idea if the weights on the track or not

General rule of thumb I was told with us is a lb in either direction. 
They can't really accurately guess the babies weight. 
I was told by the way I was measuring at my 36w appointment my son was 8-9lbs. Had him literally the next day and he was 6lb12oz.

Third trimester ultrasounds are notorious for being wrong. They are unreliable and should not be used to determine baby's weight. They can be off by up to 2 pounds in either direction. They can be used to scare women into C-sections because of "big baby". I refuse any ultrasound other than my anatomy scan.

My OB said it's off my up to 2 lbs which is a lot when you're talking about a small baby

My daughter was born at 35w5d and she was 5 lbs 7oz. I was tiny, 100lbs prepregnancy (I was 17) and gained 40ish pounds. I don't know how accurate they are but that may be right for you.

My 2nd was full term, 115 prepregnancy, gained 40ish lbs again, and was 6 pounds 5oz.

It depends on genetics, health, and so on. I've seen them off by at most 2.5lbs.

In my case, not accurate. I was told 8 pounds just 2 days before my daughter was born. She wasn't even 7 pounds. I was expecting this big baby, and out came a tiny munchkin!

They aren't at all accurate late in pregnancy. They can be off significantly

I had a growth scan at wk 36 and they guessed he'd be 8.8lb and he was born 8.4lb

Pretty accurate if they have a good job and know what they are doing. They checked me a week before I delivered and said my baby was 6lbs4oz and I delivered 5 days later and she weighted 6lbs14oz which is almost right on for the weight gain in 5 days.
