Baby oatmeal cereal at 2 months?

Is this okay she's drinking 4 oz and I reallllyy don't want to up her ouces because of reflux but she's hungry I heard it slows down reflux

2 months is very young to put a baby on solids. I would consult with a pediatrician before continuing to feed her this. Introducing solids too young can be extremely dangerous.

It's a myth that adding oatmeal or rice to your baby's bottle will "keep them full longer". Your baby's stomach is a certain number of ounces. They will drink until full. So if your baby's stomach is four ounces they will still take 4 ounces every time. All adding oatmeal or rice to a bottle will do is up your baby's calorie and starch intake which you do not want.

Before 6 months, anything other than breastmilk or formula is not good for babies. They don't have all the things built up in their gut before then to digest or fight off bacteria. It's called Virgin Gut. I know we all survived when our parents did it 25+ years ago, but research and studies have proven it to not be okay.

Just give him more milk. The amount he drinks doesn't effect his reflux. If you give it him slowly, winding him and carefully then he will just drink more milk which is much better for him that sticking oatmeal into his diet when he's not mature enough.

It's totally fine as long as you don't put in too much. My baby's pediatrician told me to give my daughter (2 months old) a scoop of rice cereal in a 2-3 ounce bottle to help her reflux. Doing that and giving her zantac has helped so much. She never screams in pain anymore. A lot of people think you strictly have to go by the book and I thought so too but if my daughter's pediatrician says it's fine then Im sure it's okay.

Our ped put our son on cereal at 5.4w due to terrible reflux. He's been doing AWESOME ever since & we've had no problems.

My baby was the same he is 2 months today and was eating like crazy she said when he was like four weeks to put a tsp of  oatmeal and 2 scoops of formula in with the water and it will make them fuller faster which we only do it before bedtime but it works!

I also give my 2 1/2 month old (3 months May 1st) a half a table spoon of organic baby oatmeal with breastmilk or formula and he's fine. He was a sleepy water (literally would fall asleep during every feeding) and my husband and I would be up all night feeding him every hour. He's been fine, and it fills him up more. Good luck!
