I know the doctor says 4-6 months to give the baby water but my question is who have given there baby water earlier than four months?

I've always been told not to give water until at least one year unless told otherwise by a pediatrician for medical reasons.

The most you should give at 4-6 months is a couple sip. And then it should be introduced with solids so that baby is eating food while drinking. Baby drinks all good up until then and if you start giving baby something to drink with no calories in it, baby's stomach will get full but they won't get nutrition. It's a big issue. Speak to your child's doc about it. They will understand your baby's needs more than anyone else.

I heard the same 4-6 months rule, have never heard of waiting til 1 year... just curious, how old do they recommend waiting to introduce solids if water isn't introduced until 1 year? I started giving my daughter water as we introduced solids, and we started solids at 6 months. She didn't really start drinking it enthusiastically/successfully until maybe 7-8 months.

You shouldn't be giving them water until they're over a year, it's easy to over hydrate them which can cause water on the brain

My son has been on solids since 4 months old he was give the oknto have 4oz of water or watered down juice at 7 months but no more than 4oz a day.
