Would you choose another stone instead of a diamond 💎 for your ring?

My best friend's center stone is a sapphire. Her ring is a beautiful vintage art deco piece I found in a boutique. She loved it and her now hubby happened to ask my opinion not long after and secretly bought it for her. 😁

For my own I wanted white sapphire but my husband was having none of it. He spent 10x as much on a diamond ring because he wasn't going to get something "inferior" to show the world I was mine.

Please tell me that made someone else roll their eyes and vomit in the back of their mouths, too. 🙄

I always wanted an amethyst! No it's not my birthstone lol it's just my favorite color and I think colored stones make it so unique! The halo is diamond though. :)

I really don't like the big garish diamond rings. I much prefer simple, understated jewlery. I'd be happier if I didn't get a diamond. They are so overrated in my opinion.

I once worked with a woman who got engaged and he gave her a beautiful ring. It had a fairly large diamond alreay but she wasn't happy. She made him return it and get her this huge and frankly quite horrid ring. To me, this is just shallow and all about the image you want to portray of your relationship. She cared more about the ring than his feelings, let alone bank balance.

Absolutely! There are many beautiful precious and semi-precious stones out there. Brilliantearth.com has some beautiful vintage style pieces- some that don't feature a huge diamond. I would happily take any of their stuff.

I wouldn't have cared. My ex fiancé wouldn't even buy me a ring, I bought it myself and it was a pink sapphire. My husband bought me diamonds but they could have been glass, I'd still have said yes.

I'm not really big on jewelry other than like dainty simple necklace, so when it comes to a wedding ring, I wouldn't care as long as it's simple and something that will go with everything I wear. I've always pictured a diamond ring, but really don't like the look of big diamond rings. If I do end up marrying my current bf someday, I'm not too worried cuz he knows me and I know I'd love whatever he got me. He actually thinks diamond rings are kinda lame and said he'd want it to be "cooler" than a diamond, whatever that means lol, but as long as its cute and fits me and my style, I really don't care either way.
