Hello , I'm an 18 year old female that is still a virgin . Lately I've been trying to have intercourse but the gentlemen could only fit the tip of his penis inside . I felt penetrationbut it was more than excruciating pain . I wanted to know if I needed to have my hymen surgically removed of if I have a condition. I can't seem to have an intercourse and it's becoming frustrating.[photo removed by Glow]

The first picture is a normal intact hymen. The opening will get larger as you have sex or masturbate.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pictures are also intact hymens; but having one of those types means that you may need surgery to have it corrected. They are more difficult to break from sex or tampon use than the first picture.

And the 5th picture is a hymen that is completely gone - usually following childbirth.
