Would you pay 15k for an elective c section?

Ok so I was watching childbirth all or nothing last night and a woman opted for an elective c section at Harley street, London for 15k despite no medical reasons. I had an emergency c section and it was horrendous! Not sure I'd opt for one!

That's crazy, but I live in Canada so paying for any type of health care is crazy to me.

I don't see the point in choosing to pay to do something that is more dangerous and more invasive than a vaginal delivery. Why on earth would anybody WANT a c-section? I guess I'm just missing the rationale.

I want to have a natural birth as its a fast recovery and my mom witnessed my sisters emergency c-section and said they pull your guts out to get to your uterus. Kinda just turned me off. My sister said it's the weirdest feeling ever like an elephant sitting on your chest. Idk why you would elect for that either. I did think about it when I first found out I was pregnant as I was and still am terrified of giving birth. But I'm only 11 weeks and 5 days so hopefully I can get over that fear by my due date lol

Why pay when you can get it on the nhs for free ? I've had 3 sections now I wouldn't pay that to go private I'm very happy with the job the nhs did for me, my scars as neat as it could get its like as thick as a couple of strands of hair and very neatly done , they wernt elective all 3 were emergency this one will be elective though as it's planned already at 13 weeks

Oh my goodness, was this the episode where the woman had the placenta and cord still attached to her baby for like 9 days after lol? And put rose petals and all on it..so gross :L
