Is spit sanitary?

Can using spit as lube cause things like uti/bv/yeast?? Usually I'm fine with it, but I kind of freak out and get germaphobe-y when my bf uses his spit to lube me up in the morning. Doesn't bacteria build up in your mouth like crazy while you sleep?

I'll be the oddball and tell you you'll be fine lol.. I'm prone to UTIs and bladder infections but I've yet to get one from that lol and my SO almost always uses his spit for extra wetness when we have sex. I may just be lucky idk but I feel like if you were gonna get a uti or something from spit then everyone would be having UTIs every time their man went down on them 🤷🏼‍♀️

No, it isn't. Your mouth is FULL of bacteria. And it also just doesn't work as well as actual lube.
