Does a MC count as a period?

Ok so I had a MC yesterday and I know this because I went to the ER. So right now I'm bleeding and I plan on trying again right away as soon as it stops. I've been trying to gather information but some of it doesn't quite make sense since I am still learning and experiencing. I saw that one women said she was waiting for her period to start trying again after her MC, but doesn't your MC count as a period?

My doctor had advised me to wait to get my perod and to try after . The actual MC does not count as a period !

Doc told me to wait after the mc bleeding happened, then wait one cycle. I'm no expert but I would assume it's not considered a period?

It depends. Mine did. Two weeks after my mc began I ovulated. I became pregnant during that time without waiting for a cycle (my levels were back to 0 so we were in the clear to try again). I'd ask your doctor. It might depend on your cycle and how far along you were in when you miscarried.

So sorry for your loss. But no the mc does not count as a period. Your hcg levels need to come back down to a 5 or lower in order to conceive again. That time frame varies for every woman recovering from a mc. But I'd wait at least 2 weeks following your mc, or for your next cycle to come. Best of luck!!!
