High Blood Pressure - Should I be induced?

Question

I'm 36 weeks right now & they have me on strict bed rest until further notice. My blood pressure readings have been all over the place for the last couple of months, but it has remained consistently high the last two weeks. My doctor thought it was preeclampsia (swelling + rapid weight gain), but it turns out I passed my blood tests and urine analysis. 
 
They're calling it gestational hypertension for now. These are my blood pressure readings:

My question is: Have any of you been induced for high blood pressure? Aren't my blood pressure readings extremely high? Why haven't they planned to induce me when so many babies are okay at 36 or 37 weeks?

I am in a similar situation - on strict bedrest due to high BP at 36w4d. My readings at home when I am resting are lower than yours, but if I get up for any reason (or when I go to the doctor) they're high - but no preeclampsia at this point. My doctor told me they would induce if my resting BP is consistently reading more than 140/95+ (with the thought that every time I get up to eat or use the bathroom it's even higher than that). I am surprised your doctor hasn't mentioned inducing.  Mine said that at this point, it's better to get the baby out if the blood presssure isn't controlled. We are just taking it one day at a time, with appointments twice a week. I wouldn't be surprised if I was induced within the next week or two. I am a first time mom and not a doctor so I certainly don't have all the answers, I just wanted to let you know you are not alone. Hang in there!

I've been induced due to hypertension. I think I'm getting induced this time around as well and my readings are 135/91 usually always around there, no higher than that tho. Have they prescribed any medication to you?? I was hospitalized last week for dehydration and they monitored my blood pressure for 24 hours and it was not high enough for meds. (Stayed under 140/90) entire time I was there but they would not discharge me until I agreed to take meds.

I got induced at 37 weeks due to high bp with bps lower than yours.  I also was seeing a high risk doctor/specialist who made that recommendation. I absolutely believe it was the right thing to do for me. It was the second child I was induced for for high bp though so maybe that's why they took it so seriously... please update what happens and good luck. I hated dealing with the high bp during pregnancy.
